Accessibility

The Friends of West Florida Public Library is committed to making our website fully accessible to all individuals. As part of that effort, the Friends has adopted certain standards for accessible design set forth by the U.S. Department of Justice under the Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and web content accessibility guidelines provided by the World Wide Web Consortium.
If you use assistive technology, for example a screen reader, and have difficulty accessing information on this site, please contact the Friends at friendsofwfpl@gmail.com and provide a description of the problem experienced and your contact information to receive the necessary assistance.

Discrimination

The Friends of West Florida Public Library, Inc. provides an environment free of all forms of discrimination and promotes personal respect, values and diversity.  Discrimination is governed by federal law and prohibited by Title IV, VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  The Friends does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in any of its activities or operations.  These activities include, but are not limited to, the appointment to and termination from the Board of Directors, selection of volunteers, selection of vendors providing products or services and selection of entities for sponsorships or partnerships. 

Privacy Policy

The Friends of West Florida Public Library is committed to protecting your privacy and collects the minimum amount of personally identifiable information for the purpose of establishing memberships. This information includes legal name, address of residence, phone number and email address.  This information is kept confidential and exempt from public records requests and is protected by Florida Statute 257.261.  This information is also subject to the provisions of Section 215 of the US Patriot Act, which provides the federal government with the ability to request such records.  The Friends of West Florida Public Library will not sell, lease, or share personally identifiable information to outside parties except as outlined above or as required by law.  The Friends never share financial information.  E-mail addresses gathered as part of your membership are confidential and exempt from public record requests as set forth in subsection 257.261(1) of the Florida Statutes. 

Consent

Upon becoming a member of the Friends of West Florida Public Library, the member is automatically enrolled in all communications from the Friends, to include phone calls, text messages and emails.  If you would like to opt-out of some or all communications, please contact us to adjust your status.  We do not share your personally identifiable information with anyone unless complying with legal requirements or to protect the organization’s rights.  We never share financial information.  We do not electronically store personally identifiable or financial information on this website.  Membership information is securely stored offline as needed for operational effectiveness.
